A quick early-Summer “chopped” salad..
Toss diced cucumber, sweet yellow corn, diced jicama, English peas, diced spring onions and basil chiffonade in a bowl with lime juice, olive oil, salt and a little pepper.
For the past few months, I’ve been enjoying (and sharing!) the experience of watching the crew at Handsome Coffee Roasters get up and running with their first coffee bar and dedicated coffee roasting facility. It’s one of the best new things in my neighborhood, and not only are the guys happy to be here in the Arts District, they’re also very happy to share.
This week, they’re extending an invitation to the neighborhood to come see the space, drink coffee (on the house!) and celebrate this new neighborhood addition! They’re not yet open for business, but they’re throwing a little party anyhow.
What: Call it a “coffeehouse speakeasy.”
Where: Handsome Coffee Roasters, 582 Mateo St @ Willow, Los Angeles, CA 90013
When: Feb 8 through Feb 10, 7-11 PM
Why: Coffee, company, and a good photo-op!
Hope to see you there!
A quick trip to the mailbox this morning yielded a lovely reward.
Teresa from Stone & Honey was kind enough to make some adjustment to a ring that I purchased from her, and added a few extra treats to boot.
At just $20 a piece, these Tiny Triangle Rings are perfect for stacking wearing in groups. I’m loving the shiny silver & brass combo.
Bonus: Teresa also sent a wee tiny bar (the perfect size, if you ask me!) of the Salt & Nibs dark chocolate from Woodblock Chocolates. Dark, delightful and delicious- with a little hint of salt & crunch. Get your own bar, here!
